poo.co.nz is New Zealand's most comprehensive, accurate, and accessible map of public toilets. Whether you're in a major city like Auckland, a rural town like Tākaka, or way out on a track like the Mueller Hut Route near Aoraki, you can find the nearest public toilet in seconds and see exactly what to expect before you go.
Filter for wheelchair accessible toilets, baby changing facilities, gender-neutral and unisex toilets, showers, drinking water and more. Where we have the data, listings also show opening hours, an open now indicator, directions, and whether the information has been provider-verified or poo.co.nz verified.

Partnering with us makes your facilities easier for residents and visitors to find, gives the public more confidence that your information is current, and gives your team a simpler way to keep everything accurate.

- 🏷️ Your logo shown as the verified provider — people can immediately see the information is official and maintained by your organisation.
- ✅ Official verification — your data is marked provider-verified, stands out from crowdsourced listings, and is never overwritten by community or crowdsourced edits.
- 📨 Public issue reports, delivered to you — when someone reports a toilet as broken, dirty, closed or incorrect, it can be queued in your portal and forwarded to the right inbox so your team can act faster.

📋 Providers can manage their own toilets directly: bulk export/import via spreadsheet to fill in every detail at once, and claim the toilets that are yours — all from a self-service portal (or we can set it up with you).
poo.co.nz is a public-good service, run independently and kept free for everyone who needs it. To enable provider accounts and cover hosting, maintenance and ongoing improvements, we ask partners for a small annual koha — keeping the map running and freely available to your residents and every visitor.

Data, attribution, privacy & use
poo.co.nz combines official provider data, poo.co.nz verification, community additions, and crowdsourced/public data. Toilets are labelled so you can see whether a listing is Provider Verified, poo.co.nz Verified, Community Added or Crowdsourced. Official provider data is never overwritten by community or crowdsourced edits.
Some crowdsourced location and facility information includes data from © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database License (ODbL). Provider information is supplied by councils, agencies, institutions and other operators under their respective licences or through direct information requests. Map tiles © Mapbox.
We collect minimal personal data. Submissions are anonymous unless you opt to include an email, and we never sell data to third parties. The poo.co.nz data is provided for personal use through this website. Bulk extraction, scraping or automated harvesting is not permitted. We're happy to discuss API access with councils and partners via the contact form above.
